Astigmatism Eye - Refractive Error of the Astigmatic eye, Astigmatism is an optical defect where by vision is blurred due to the inability of the optics of the eye to focus a point object into a sharp focused image on the retina. The eye Ideally like globe. However, some people's the eye not form rounded uniform, but like egg or rugby ball, so that the incoming rays, will not drift off at one point focus but on some of the focus point, a result that the object seen is not clear and shaded (distortion).



Astigmatism may be corrected with eyeglasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery. Correction for astigmatism need cylinder lens (C), the lens is made from the opposite condition so that the eyes can focus together. Example C-1.00 × 180.
